Gale Canji @1180studio

Gale Canji is the founder of @1180cultivate and a Calgary-based designer, hairstylist, and graphic artist known for her precision and refined aesthetic. Her creative journey began at Vidal Sassoon in London England, where she discovered the perfect intersection of art and hair.

After a successful decade behind the chair, Gale stepped away to focus on family and later, due to health concerns, transitioned into graphic design. Over the next 10 years, she built a thriving practice supporting small businesses in branding and evolving her artistry into digital media.

Still drawn to hair as a creative medium, Gale eventually returned to the salon — this time with a deeper perspective and a safe, sustainable product line that aligned with her values. Trained and worked as a Davines educator, she brings a holistic, design-driven approach to both hair and visual art.
